Universal has summoned the Cenobites. On June 30, 2026, Halloween Horror Nights officially revealed that Hellraiser will arrive as an all-new haunted house for the 2026 season — and in a rare move, the house will appear at both Universal Studios Florida in Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood in California. It marks the first time Clive Barker's blood-soaked franchise has been adapted into a maze on either coast.

For HHN fans, this one carries extra weight. The house pulls from the original Hellraiser trilogy, and Doug Bradley — the actor synonymous with Pinhead since 1987 — is back to voice the character in both Orlando and Hollywood. If you grew up fearing the Lament Configuration, this is the announcement to watch.

What We Know About the Hellraiser House

The maze draws its story from the first three films in the series: Hellraiser (1987), Hellbound: Hellraiser II, and Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth. Universal describes the experience as beginning when guests open the iconic Lament Configuration puzzle box, unwittingly summoning the Cenobites and tearing open a gateway to a dimension where, in Universal's words, “unspeakable horrors await.”

From there, guests travel through several locations lifted straight from the films, including the attic where Frank Cotton meets his grisly fate and the unsettling Channard Institute, before being pulled into The Labyrinth. That is where Pinhead and his Cenobites are waiting to claim new souls for eternal torment.

A few details stand out for theme park fans tracking this season:

  • Dual-coast debut. Hellraiser is confirmed for both Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood, a relatively uncommon arrangement that signals how much Universal is leaning into recognizable horror IP this year.
  • Doug Bradley returns. The original Pinhead reprises the role through voice work in both versions of the house.
  • Source material. The house honors the original trilogy specifically, rather than the broader (and more uneven) franchise that followed.

When Hellraiser Opens

The two coasts run on slightly different calendars. In Orlando, Halloween Horror Nights 35 opens August 28 and runs select nights through November 1, 2026. In Hollywood, the event opens later, on September 3, and also runs through November 1. Hellraiser will be available at each park for its full respective run.

The Full Halloween Horror Nights 2026 House Lineup So Far

Hellraiser joins a lineup that has been filling in rapidly through June. Universal Orlando is building toward ten total haunted houses for its 35th anniversary, themed around the “Infernal Carnival of Nightmares” hosted by returning icons Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow. Here is everything announced so far.

How to Get Tickets

Halloween Horror Nights is a separately ticketed after-hours event — your daytime park admission does not include it, and vice versa. Tickets for both coasts are on sale now.

  • Universal Studios Hollywood: Single-night general admission starts around $77, with the event beginning at 7 p.m. on select nights from September 3 through November 1. Frequent Fear Passes (up to 35 nights) start at $179, Ultimate Fear Passes at $299, and the R.I.P. Tour at $439. Note that some passes do not include access to Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift. Buy Hollywood tickets here.
  • Universal Orlando Resort: Single-night tickets start around $88, with multi-night Frequent Fear and Rush of Fear passes expected to be priced later in the summer. The Scream Early add-on gives access to at least three houses starting at 2 p.m. Buy Orlando tickets here.

A practical planning note for both coasts: a Wednesday or Thursday early in the season generally means shorter house waits at the same single-night price, while the weekend closest to Halloween — which falls on a Saturday in 2026 — is the busiest stretch of the year. If you are targeting Hellraiser specifically, an Express Pass is worth considering on busier nights, when popular IP houses can hit 90-minute waits.

The Takeaway

Hellraiser is one of the most significant IP additions of the 2026 season, both for its source material and for the rare dual-coast rollout. With Doug Bradley back as Pinhead and the original trilogy serving as the blueprint, it is positioned to be a highlight of the 35th anniversary event. With two Orlando houses still unannounced, the fog is far from finished — keep an eye on Theme Park IQ as the rest of the lineup emerges.
