Universal Studios Hollywood has revealed Murder of Crowz, a new scare zone built around a flock of crows defending its nest, as the final addition to the Halloween Horror Nights 2026 lineup.

The zone brings the event to six scare zones in total, spread across the park's streets and stairways. Halloween Horror Nights runs September 3 through November 1, 2026 on select nights, starting at 7 p.m. Universal laid out the full lineup on its official Discover Universal blog.

All 6 Halloween Horror Nights 2026 Scare Zones, Newest to Oldest

Here is the full slate in reverse announcement order, starting with the most recent reveal:

  1. Murder of Crowz, a crow's nest that turns on you
  2. Shriek of the Banshee, a foggy sideshow of the strange and the deadly
  3. Blood Bog, a swamp crawling with beastly creatures
  4. Hackerz, a gauntlet of chainsaw-swinging freaks
  5. El Circo de la Muerte, a traveling circus of monstrous acts
  6. FORTNITEMARES, the Storm and its fearsome foes brought to life

Murder of Crowz is the newest scare zone announced for the 2026 event, and it leans on a simple, nasty idea: you have wandered into territory that is not yours.

Universal's official description sets the scene: "You've foolishly ventured into a massive crow's nest. Now the flock will defend its territory by descending upon you in a feathered rage."

A few things worth noting about the concept:

  • The name is a play on "a murder of crows," the real collective noun for a group of crows.
  • The premise puts guests inside the nest rather than passing by a set piece, which usually means scare actors working from multiple heights and angles.
  • Birds have been a recurring Halloween Horror Nights motif, and a feathered rage framing points to swarm-style scares rather than a single stalking monster.

Universal has not shared a specific street location for the zone yet.

2. Shriek of the Banshee

Shriek of the Banshee was announced just ahead of Murder of Crowz and takes a classic carnival sideshow angle.

Universal describes it this way: "Follow your curiosity through the fog and stumble upon this sideshow featuring the strange, the unnatural and the deadly."

Expect heavy fog, oddity-show staging, and the kind of barker-and-curiosity setup that gives scare actors room to work a crowd slowly instead of rushing it.

3. Blood Bog

Blood Bog trades the pavement for swampland. Per Universal: "Deep in the murky swampland lies a mysterious bog. It's dark. It's damp. And it's a hotbed for beastly creatures that will make your blood run cold."

What that suggests for the street:

  • Low visibility and heavy atmospheric effects
  • Creature-driven scares rather than a licensed horror property
  • A likely fit for one of the park's lower or more enclosed walkways

4. Hackerz

Hackerz is the chainsaw zone, and Universal is upfront that seeing it coming will not save you. The official description warns that you can spot these characters from a mile away and still will not stand a chance against a band of chainsaw-swinging freaks.

Chainsaw gangs are a Halloween Horror Nights staple for a reason. The sound carries across the park, so this one tends to shape how the surrounding streets feel even when you are not standing in it.

5. El Circo de la Muerte

El Circo de la Muerte is the traveling circus zone. Universal's description: "This traveling circus is host to all sorts of atrocious acts, from the mind-bending to the monstrous. Come see for yourself and you'll leave forever changed."

It is one of two clown-adjacent draws at the 2026 event, alongside the returning Killer Klowns From Outer Space haunted house, so guests with a clown problem should plan their route carefully.

6. FORTNITEMARES

FORTNITEMARES was the first scare zone announced for 2026 and is the only one tied to an outside property. Universal describes it as dropping guests "into the chaos of FORTNITEMARES," with "fearsome foes as the Storm spreads, unleashing a terrifying new world full of unsettling surprises."

Key details:

  • It is based on Fortnite's in-game Halloween event of the same name.
  • The Storm is the central visual hook, which points to lighting and fog effects driving the zone.
  • It is the most photo-friendly zone of the six for anyone who plays the game.

How the Scare Zones Fit Into the Rest of the Event

Scare zones are free-roaming streets between the houses, so you hit them whether you plan to or not. That matters at Hollywood, where the park layout funnels guests through a handful of paths between the upper lot, the lower lot, and the Terror Tram.

The rest of the 2026 lineup includes:

  • Eight haunted houses, including SinnersStranger Things 5HellraiserEvil Dead BurnOzzy Osbourne: Prince of DarknessKiller Klowns From Outer SpaceDead, Deader, Deadest, and Killceañera: Music by Slash
  • Terror Tram Starring Art the Clown, with the Terrifier villain hijacking the backlot tram
  • The Purge: Dangerous Waters, a returning stunt show

Halloween Horror Nights 2026 Dates and Times

  • Event run: September 3 through November 1, 2026
  • Nights: Select nights only, not every night of the run
  • Start time: 7 p.m.

What We Know So Far
