Theme Park IQ v2.3.0 Update
We've completely redesigned food lists including a full backend rework and a new frontend UI. We've moved the link to food lists outside of each individual theme park into its own section. We're going to redesign the food lists "home page" with additional filtering, sorting, etc. We're also considering unifying all of the food cards across the site to look similar where today the Universal food cards look a little bit more modern than our existing Disney food cards.
Food Lists Backend
Previously food lists were tied to individual theme parks, but with the addition of new data sources for food, we've made food lists universal (not the park). You can now add any food list item from any page on the site to any food list.
Food Lists UI
We've completely reworked the frontend including the design, filtering, and added grouping! The filtering has been reworked to only show locations/lands/restaurants that are in your list so you don't have to sort through everything. We will also add additional filters soon so you can sort by ood vs. Beverages vs. Novelties vs. Alcoholic vs. Seasonal vs.. many other things so you can find items in your list easier.
We've completely redesigned the wait times page to make it easier to see all of the important information for each attraction and show in a compact and easily digestible view. We've also added theme park hours to the view as well. Look for updated filtering in the next release.
We've integrated Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort into the site. This integration includes attraction wait & show times as well as food across the resorts. With this integration you can add items to food lists, set up attraction alerts, and monitor live wait times and wait time trends!
For Epic Universe specifically, we’ve added a new attraction alert type called Multiple Attractions. With this alert type, you can get notifications for all attractions in the park when they change state (like Open to Weather Delay) or when showtimes are coming up. This feature is in beta and will be expanded in a future release, the primary reason this was created was for when I was recently at Epic Universe and wanted to keep a pulse on the entire park while I was there (and to catch a ride reopening with low wait times!). Currently only Push Notifications are supported.
We’ve rolled out a highly requested feature which is the ability to edit Park Reservation Alerts. Now you can adjust an existing alert and change the date, park, ticket type, notification methods, notes, etc. If you’ve already received a notification, you will only be able to edit the contacts and the notes. We’re still thinking about ways to make this better.
If you’re using our Push Notifications on iOS and have installed the Progressive Web App (PWA) on your phone, you probably noticed a refreshed UI a little while back. With the addition of Universal Parks, we’ve refreshed it again to where when you change your park, it will save so every time you come back you will see the same park (unless you change it). We’ve included park hours as well for your selected park/resort. We’ve also added a stale detector to ensure the data you’re seeing is always up to date. You’ll get a banner noting the data is not fresh and you should refresh. We’ve also added a refresh button at the top of the page if you need to reload the page while in the PWA.
There’s probably a lot more I’m forgetting, but things roll out so quick in real-time, I forget to write down every change. I’ll do better.
