Universal Reveals 'Dead, Deader, Deadest' Horror Nights 2026 House

Disneyland Resort has quietly pushed up the start of its 2026 holiday season. Holidays at the Disneyland Resort now begins Friday, November 13, 2026, five days earlier than the November 18 date Disney shared last year.
The change showed up in an update to the resort's 2026 calendar of events and offers, which now lists the season running November 13, 2026 through January 6, 2027.
The dates are the whole story here. Disney did not announce a reason for the shift, and the calendar entry itself reads the same as before. Here is the before and after:
Disney first put a start date on the 2026 holidays back in December 2025. That early announcement listed November 18 as the opening day of the season.
That date was a Wednesday, which broke a pattern Disneyland fans had gotten used to. The resort almost always flips to holiday decor on a Friday, setting up a big opening weekend. The 2025 season started Friday, November 14, 2025 and ran through January 7, 2026.
The corrected date puts things right back on schedule. November 13, 2026 is a Friday, and it falls in almost exactly the same calendar slot as last year's opening.
The new date also tightens the turnaround between seasons. Halloween Time runs August 21 through October 31, 2026, with Oogie Boogie Bash taking over Disney California Adventure on 33 separate nights across August, September, and October.
With holidays starting November 13, that leaves less than two weeks between the end of Halloween Time and the start of the holiday season. Under the old November 18 date, the gap would have stretched more than two full weeks.
Here is how the fall and winter calendar lines up now:
That changeover window is when Disneyland typically closes a handful of attractions to swap overlays, so guests visiting in early November should plan around some refurbishment walls.
Disney has not published a full 2026 lineup yet. The calendar entry only promises "enchanting decor, jolly entertainment, and festive foods," plus Disney Festival of Holidays at Disney California Adventure.
Based on recent years, the season normally brings back:
Treat that list as the usual pattern, not a confirmed 2026 lineup. Disney typically releases full holiday details, including entertainment times and food marketplace menus, in early fall.
If you were building a fall 2026 trip around the November 18 date, you now have five extra days of holiday overlays to work with. That matters most for guests who wanted the decorations without Thanksgiving week crowds.
The date change is official and live on Disney's own calendar, but that is the extent of it right now. Disney has not confirmed the 2026 entertainment lineup, holiday merchandise, or whether any new offerings join the season. Park hours and holiday-specific ticket offers are also still unannounced.
We will update this post as Disney releases more details about Holidays at the Disneyland Resort 2026.
